Wilson Greenhouse

We are a Greenhouse program located in Woodrow Wilson Senior High School in the Washington, DC area. As the 2013 Green Ribbon Schools recipient, we pride ourselves on being the leaders of  the green movement among DC Public Schools by growing seedlings to donate and/or sell for program funding. This program is student run with the support of our school administrators and the amazing support of our teacher sponsors. If you are interested in coming in to donate time or supplies, feel free to contact us!

Our School

OUR GOALS!

As a student run program we hope to...
  • Develop our leadership skills and find our strengths.
  • Practice and experiment with methods of growing food from seeds.
  • Raise awareness of the importance of sustainability.
  • Increase community support for locally grown foods.
  • Expand knowledge and encourage students to learn more about growing plants and exploring their passions.
  • Create partnerships with local nonprofits and schools around the DC area and develop long lasting relationships.
  • Become more independent and have an environment where we are able to express ourselves by collaborating with peers and gaining knowledge through self teachings.
